31 May, 2017 LHI Hope Valley

A small group of us performed a Wednesday afternoon concert which was attended by about 50 residents.  Shauna Cini the Lifestyle organiser from LHI said “Everybody spoke highly about the concert”. We were touched to see that we moved many souls and some of the elderly audience shed tears during our last song “How Great Thou Art”.

20 May, 2017 Kadina

Following a tradition, which started 18 years ago, the Lobethal Harmony Club performed at Kadina as part of the Cornish Festival, which is being held bi-annually. It was a great concert experience and the 100 attendees enjoyed  it as much as the choir, who sang this years full program Kadina Uniting Church Program amply supported by Jacinda Janson, Simply Women, the Uke group and Australian poetics by John Minchin. We were spoiled by the hosts by delicious dinner before and supper after the concert, which provided plenty opportunity for fellow-shipping and reminiscing about the past.

14 May, 2017 North Adelaide

The Lobethal Harmony Club,  supported by Simply Women and the Club’s Ukulele group, performed a Saturday afternoon concert at Helping Hand Aged Care in North Adelaide. The more than 80 residents, who attended the shortened program, thoroughly enjoyed the light-hearted concert and many joined in the popular songs provided by the Ukulele group.          Helping Hand Program

Lobethal 175 year Anniversary

was celebrated on May 7th, 2017 by 600 people in the Lutheran Church Service conducted by Pastor David Preuss. The Lobethal Harmony Club, founded in 1878, sang with the ladies choir Handel’s ‘Praise be thee, O Lord’, followed by ‘Go now in Peace’ and the triumphant ‘How Great Thou Art’. The Thanksgiving Service was a memorable occasion capturing the spirit of the ‘Valley of Praise’.

30 April, 2017 Birdwood

About 60 people attended the intimate atmosphere of the concert in the Lutheran Hall in Birdwood as a fundraiser for the Chaplaincy. They enjoyed the current program of the Lobethal Harmony Club choir as well as the performances of current Scholarship winners, Amy Hein (vocal) and Samantha Reed (flute). In the interval a sumptuous supper was provided by the hosts.

9 October, 2016 Tea Tree Gully

Raelene Watts from the Tea Tree Gully Uniting Church organised a well attended concert of the Lobethal Harmony Club to support a School in Uganda. The Ukulele group encouraged the audience to sing along and brought a smile on everybody’s face.

General Information

For afternoon concerts we perform in our traditional blue jackets, for evening concerts we normally perform in our black suits.

For larger venues we require a PA system. If the system on-site is not adequate we can setup our own system.

We appreciate if the host organisation can supply us with a few good photos of the event, which we can upload on this page.
